The Qixi Festival, or Chinese Valentine’s Day, graces the 7th day of the 7th lunar month (August 29, 2025, this year).It originates from the romantic legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl, who are only allowed to meet once a year on this day when magpies form a bridge across the Milky Way.

Traditionally, girls would pray for wisdom and skills in handcrafts, while today it is mainly celebrated by couples as a day of love and romance.
